We read to Thomas at home, but probably not as much as we should. So I signed him up to participate in the library's summer reading program to help remind us to read to him. We track his progress on these handy little charts provided by the library. For every 15 minutes that we read to him, we color one of the stones along the path. Once he completes a path, he'll receive a little prize. After completing all four paths, he'll earn a t-shirt or some other prize.

We cheated on that last year! I didn't sign Yoshi up for the reading program (though we read A LOT!), but when the children's librarian found out we were moving that week, she gave Yoshi one of the t-shirts as an honorary prize. She just started wearing it just last week since it's so big, but I think it's a size 4T or something, so she'll be able to wear it for another year or two.
I miss the neighborhood library!
I think Thomas is ready for school with his hand raised. What a smart little guy!
